With an aim to promote renewable energy usage and extend support to military veterans, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has recently announced the initiation of three tenders for the supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of solar energy systems connected to the electrical grid. These systems will be integrated with all necessary auxiliary devices, including inverters, to powerhouses owned by military veterans.

The power generated from solar energy will empower military veterans by equipping their homes with sustainable and cost-efficient energy solutions. The tender specifications require a peak capacity of (3) kilowatts DC and (2.7) kilowatts AC for the solar energy systems to be installed in the country’s northern regions.

Hisham Al-Moumani, the Director of Electricity and Rural Electrification at the ministry, said, “The first tender targets 523 military veterans’ houses located in Irbid, operating under the license of Irbid District Electricity. The second tender encompasses 502 houses in Amman, Balqa, Zarqa, and Madaba, falling under the license of the Jordanian Electricity Company. Meanwhile, the third tender addresses 353 houses in the Mafraq, Jerash, and Ajloun, operating under the license of Irbid Electricity Company.”

The ministry has set the deadline for bid submission at 12 pm on Monday (August 28) with the bid opening scheduled at 1 pm on the same day. Bidders must include a bank guarantee or a certified check issued by a local bank, valid for (120) days from the submission deadline.

The bid invitations will be available electronically on the ministry’s official website (memr.gov.jo) from Sunday until Thursday. Additionally, inquiries regarding the tender can be submitted via email to hana.alzuabi@memr.gov.jo until Tuesday, August 15.
