Crédit Agricole Egypt has signed an agreement with Infinity to provide financing options for individuals interested in installing solar energy systems at home. The signing took place in the presence of Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Managing Director of Crédit Agricole Egypt, and Ashraf El Bishry, General Manager of Infinity, along with other senior representatives.
Under the agreement, Infinity customers can apply for a solar loan from Crédit Agricole Egypt. The loan offers a repayment period of up to seven years. It is designed to help individuals purchase solar systems for residential use.
The financing program is part of both institutions’ efforts to promote the use of renewable energy at the household level. It offers access to solar equipment through a structured payment model. The aim is to reduce the upfront cost for individuals who want to shift to solar power.
According to the official statement, this initiative is aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and supports national efforts to expand renewable energy usage. It also reflects financial practices promoted by the Central Bank of Egypt for sustainable lending and environmental responsibility.
In addition to this program, Egypt is carrying out other renewable energy efforts. In Minya Governorate, a pilot program supported by the Ministry of Electricity has deployed solar-powered water pumps in rural agricultural areas. Each pump has a capacity of 5 kilowatts and operates off-grid, supplying water for irrigation.
Another initiative involves the installation of solar street lighting systems in parts of Fayoum and Sohag. These systems are managed through local municipal units and funded in part through provincial development budgets. The lighting units range from 100 to 150 watts and are powered by pole-mounted solar panels.
