Jaguar Land Rover’s distributor in Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (MYNM), has partnered with alfanar to offer home charging units with every electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sold. Each customer will receive an alfaCharge 22-kilowatt AC home charger.
The home charger includes installation, a two-year warranty, and after-sales support. Installation will be carried out by trained alfanar technicians after a site inspection. This arrangement gives EV buyers access to a full charging setup at home without needing to contact third parties.
The agreement follows six months of technical work between the two companies to ensure that the alfaCharge system works with Jaguar Land Rover vehicles currently on the market and future models. Testing confirmed technical compatibility and installation safety.
In addition to the charger, customers will receive support services covering charging guidance, electricity usage, and basic maintenance. Service centers run by both MYNM and alfanar will offer 24/7 customer support.
This step is part of MYNM’s broader plan to support EV use across Saudi Arabia. It also prepares the market for Jaguar and Land Rover’s future electric models, including a new all-electric Range Rover expected in the near future.
Outside this partnership, there are also small renewable energy projects in the country. In Al-Kharj, a solar-powered water pumping station with a 50-kilowatt capacity has been installed to supply farms. It operates independently from the national grid.
Another small project includes the use of rooftop solar panels for lighting and cooling in a public library in Dammam. The system has a 30-kilowatt installed capacity and operates during daytime hours. These systems are part of efforts by local authorities and companies to adopt renewable energy in public spaces.
