Prime Teknologies, a technology firm based in the UK specializing in renewable energy solutions,  will establishing a large-scale Solar Power Plant in Nigeria. This 25-Megawatt photovoltaic (PV) facility marks a significant stride in addressing Nigeria’s energy demands while championing renewable energy and sustainable development.

Teaming up with global experts in renewable energy deployment, Prime Teknologies UK is utilizing its proficiency to deploy clean energy solutions across Nigeria. The aim is to provide hybrid electricity options to communities, with local Solar plants bolstering the national grid, ensuring uninterrupted power generation, transmission, and distribution.

With a track record of over 100 gigawatts generated across 30+ countries worldwide, including the UK, Spain, South America, India, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Ghana, and others, Prime Teknologies and its partners are committed to instigating positive change through diverse renewable energy initiatives.

Leading the charge is Charles Scott-Emuakpor, CEO of Prime Teknologies UK, who has assembled a team of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in Nigeria’s power sector. Notable among them is Engr. Francis Okosobo-Ibe, a Consulting Power Systems Engineer and former business leader in NEPA/PHCN.

“We’re constructing Nigeria’s largest utility-scale power plant,” Charles Scott-Emuakpor stated. “Our drive stems from the urgent need to tackle Nigeria’s energy challenges sustainably. The Prime Solar Power Plant is a pivotal milestone in our endeavor to promote clean, reliable energy sources.”

Scott-Emuakpor emphasized the integration of innovative technologies like Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) alongside PV modules to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the Renewable Power Plant. This approach underscores their commitment to delivering clean, affordable, and sustainable electricity to Nigerian homes and businesses.

Uche Ndubuokwu, Operations Lead for the project, highlighted the role of renewable energy in alleviating electricity scarcity in Nigeria, aiming to provide electricity from a renewable source to thousands of Nigerians, thus easing pressure on the national grid and fostering a sustainable energy future.

In addition to international partnerships, Prime Teknologies is collaborating closely with Federal and State governments, as evidenced by the keen interest shown by the Federal Ministry of Power and the Innovation, Science & Technology Ministry (FMIST) in supporting renewable energy initiatives. The company is also engaging with the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on due diligence.

Beyond economic benefits, Prime Tek’s Solar Power Plant will create over 2000 local jobs during construction and provide ongoing employment opportunities in operations and maintenance, aligning with the company’s vision of promoting sustainable development and addressing climate change challenges.

As Prime Teknologies UK embarks on this transformative journey, its commitment to driving positive change through innovation remains unwavering. Through innovative technologies and strategic partnerships, Prime Teknologies UK aims to leave a lasting impact on Nigeria’s energy sector and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
