Gujarat-based Sahaj Solar Limited, at its board meeting held on March 07, 2026, among other matters, considered and approved/noted a proposal to conduct business activities related to a 750 MW solar panel manufacturing plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through a strategic partnership.
In a regulatory filing, the company stated that it had earlier proposed Phase I of a 750 MW solar panel manufacturing plant in India. However, considering the current market scenario and to leverage pricing and economic advantages available at the global level, the company is now evaluating the possibility of setting up the 750 MW plant in the UAE through a strategic partner by incorporating a step-down subsidiary.
The Board also discussed and approved the proposal for the incorporation of a step-down subsidiary in the UAE, subject to obtaining the necessary approvals from relevant regulatory authorities, if required.
The proposed entity, Sahaj Energy Solar Panels Manufacturing L.L.C., or such other name as may be approved, will be incorporated in compliance with applicable UAE and Indian laws.
The proposed investment will be AED 51,000, representing 51 shares of AED 1,000 each. Sahaj Renewable Energy Trading – FZCO will hold 51% of the shareholding in the proposed company.
Previous Global Projects
Sahaj Solar Limited has been expanding its global footprint, with the company actively exploring opportunities in Africa. During an investor call, Pramit Brahmbhatt said the company had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Africa to supply power from a 10 MW power plant as part of its initial market entry strategy.
Brahmbhatt added that during a recent visit, the company met with regulators and observed strong interest in the Zambian market, where Sahaj Solar has secured its first 10 MW contract. “It’s a good market penetration we have achieved there. We met several local developers, and we expect further inquiries from the region in the coming calendar year,” he said.
For the first 10 MW project, the company expects to begin groundbreaking in January 2026. Brahmbhatt further noted that the company has also signed a 110 MW EPC contract in Zambia, with groundbreaking expected to begin in January following the Christmas period. The project pipeline represents an order value of approximately ₹60 crore to ₹65 crore, with revenue realisation expected in the first half of the financial year 2026–27.
