TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy & Water win a 400 MW solar project in Saudi Arabia, after the consortium is selected by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) under the country’s National Renewable Energy Program. The As Sufun plant, located in the Hail region, is expected to begin delivering power to the grid in 2027.
The produced electricity will be sold to SPPC through a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement, and is expected to power more than 68,400 homes.
This project forms part of Round 6 of the National Renewable Energy Program, which aims to cut the use of liquid fuels in power generation and raise Saudi Arabia’s share of renewables and energy storage to up to 50% by 2030, depending on future demand growth.
