Oman will be launching a massive solar power project with a total output capacity of 1000 megawatts (MW). The utility scale photovoltaic (PV) solar project will be based on the Independent Power Project (IPP) and is scheduled to  be launched in 2029. Solar tracker manufacturing firm in the Middle East, PVH, has joined hands with China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd (CEEC) for 1.7 GW for MENA’s largest solar project. The desalination plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia will be carrying out its operation using solar power generated by the photovoltaic power station  with a total installed capacity of 45.5 MW. The UAE based renewable energy firm, Masdar, has been awarded the contract to build the 1.8GW sixth phase of the largest Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) awarded the contract to Masdar as the preferred bidder with the lowest bid of $US16.24/MWh. Bahrain will be setting up a solar park project with a capacity of 72 megawatts as the country looks to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060. Hydrogen is necessary raw material in industry and agriculture and is mainly produced from coal or natural gas. With the aim of developing the health sector in Gaza, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has provided Palestine Red Crescent Society’s (PRCS) Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza with a solar power system. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has selected the state-owned renewable energy firm Masdar for the construction and management of the 1,800-megawatt (MW) phase 6 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
