Bahrain’s King Praises Bapco Energies’ Role in Energy Transformation

Bahrain’s Bapco Energies is playing a significant role in the kingdom’s energy transformation. Recently, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain commended the firm’s role in energy transformation during a meeting with Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Board of Directors Chairman of Bapco Energies, held at the Al Safriya Palace.

He also stressed the need to ensure that the transformation plans aligned with the global energy landscape. He emphasised encouraging innovation and adoption of best international practices, leading to better efficiency of operations and raising the level of productivity.

The other dignitaries present were Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Personal Representative, as well as several board members of Bapco Energies.

King Hamad also commended the major role played by Shaikh Nasser in leading the energy transition efforts in the kingdom. He also lauded Bapco Energies Group’s staff and subsidiary firms for the efforts towards the goals of Bahrain’s comprehensive development process.

Shaikh Nasser, said, “The company has evolved from a traditional oil gas holding company into an innovative, progressive and promising one that supports energy security and focuses on renewable energy, under the theme “To Power the Next Generation”, in line with the King’s vision and the aspirations of  Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.”

Shaikh Nasser highlighted  Bapco Energies’ achievements between 2022 and the first half of 2023. He also revealed the progress made in the Bapco Modernisation Programme (BMP) project. He also stressed on Bapco Energies’ commitment towards building strategic global partnerships to ensure that its business is in line with the kingdom’s energy development goals. He hoped that Bahrain’s global energy role will  be accelerated towards achieving the goals of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

Further, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy transition will pave the way for new investment opportunities through business innovation and enhancing strategic partnerships that support the national economy.
