In 2021, the Middle Eastern country Saudi Arabia said it wanted to ensure that 30 percent of vehicles in Riyadh would be electric by 2030. International banking group Goldman Sachs expects Electric Vehicles (EVs) to make up about half of new car sales worldwide by 2035.

Saudi efforts are now also zeroing in on renewable energy and mining minerals needed to develop battery chemicals. Saudi Arabia has already set a target of producing 500,000 electric vehicles by 2030.

Saudi Arabia seems to be taking rapid strides to enhance the future of the electric car industry toward achieving its national strategy in Vision 2030 by reducing carbon emissions and generating 50 percent of its electrical energy from renewable sources. The Kingdom recently launched the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ), the first Saudi brand of electric cars (Ceer). It opened Lucid, the first factory that specializes in the manufacturing of electric vehicles in the Saudi market.

The year-old Riyadh startup Ceer Motors, a joint venture between the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the Taiwanese multinational Foxconn, aims for 2025 to debut the first Saudi-branded electric vehicles manufactured in the Kingdom.

The third edition of the EV Auto Show will take place from 15th to 17th October 2024. With the growing demand for exhibition space, 2024 will be held at Riyadh Front Conference & Exhibition Center, making it the largest EV Auto Show in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East and presenting more opportunities to position your brand before the global EV Market. The exhibition aims to promote electric mobility and also to unite the leading stakeholders and decision-makers in the EV Sector.

The event will allow exhibitors to showcase their Electric Vehicles, Innovative equipment, technologies and services for the EV Sector to an enthused audience of policymakers, business leaders, investors, thought leaders and a wide range of end-users, underscoring its role as the main hub driving the future of the industry.

Saudi Arabia is making significant strides in the electric vehicles (EV) space and seeking to manufacture and export more than 150,000 electric cars by 2026. The event is in line with Saudi Arabia’s goal of leveraging EVs to realize its Vision 2030 target to transition towards clean technology and sustainable energy sources. Sustainability and electric vehicles are among the fastest-growing segments in Saudi Arabia. The Event has been the first & the most extensive exhibition on electric vehicles and technology which has reached out to the entire electric mobility ecosystem under one roof.
