Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman recently said the government has asked its state-owned oil company Aramco to halt its capacity additions. A recent report from the International Energy Agency (IEA) said that while natural gas dominates in electricity generation in the Middle East, renewable energy is also gathering pace.
