JinkoSolar, a global solar and energy storage system (ESS) supplier, has signed a supply agreement for 2 GW of PV modules with Masdar, a global clean energy leader. In a press release, JinkoSolar said it will supply its Tiger Neo series modules for the gigascale round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy project in Abu Dhabi.
The project was initially launched in January 2025, jointly with Masdar and Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC). It integrates a 5.2 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a 19 gigawatt-hour (GWh) battery energy storage system (BESS). The RTC project is the world’s first gigascale renewable energy project integrating solar power and battery energy storage, and will be located in Abu Dhabi.
Now, JinkoSolar is supplying its Tiger Neo modules in compliance with the technical standards for specialised modules tailored to the project’s requirements, and they are upgraded based on the company’s mature N-type TOPCon technology platform. These modules aim to redefine the potential of renewable energy by overcoming intermittency challenges. Once operational, the project is expected to serve as a blueprint that can be replicated internationally to meet the growing demand for clean, secure, round-the-clock power.
JinkoSolar Builds Long-term Partnership with Masdar
The signing of the 2 GW module purchase agreement marks an important milestone for JinkoSolar’s expansion in the high-end Middle Eastern renewable energy market. It also strengthens its long-term strategic partnership with Masdar.
Moving forward, JinkoSolar said it will support the efficient construction and advancement of the RTC project through high-quality product delivery and localised technical services. The company added that it will continue supporting the implementation of large-scale zero-carbon energy projects globally with its PV products while accelerating the green and low-carbon energy transition alongside international partners.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both companies, including Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar; Jad Abdel Rahim Masri; Abdulla Zayed; as well as Charlie Cao; Gener Miao; and Robin Li. The collaboration reflects Masdar’s confidence in JinkoSolar’s product quality, delivery capability, and global localised service network, while further reinforcing the position of JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo modules as a preferred choice for large-scale renewable energy projects worldwide.
