Lucid Motors Group is gearing up for full-scale car production in the Saudi Arabia. The company, known for its innovative electric vehicles, has announced plans to initiate the second phase of its operations in Saudi Arabia, involving the complete manufacturing of some of its car models.

As per the firm, initially, Lucid’s plant in Jeddah primarily focused on the production of auto parts and the assembly of vehicles. However, the company now aims to transition into full-fledged manufacturing, indicating towards a major milestone in its Saudi operations.

“We intend in the next period to announce the launching of the second production phase. This involves the full manufacturing of some of the Company’s models,” said the firm’s note and further added that it currently has an assembly capacity of around 5,000 vehicles a year.

Dwelling on firm’s production plans, it said that Lucid is preparing to roll out the production of select models entirely within the kingdom. This move represents a significant expansion beyond assembly operations and highlights Lucid’s commitment to establishing a robust manufacturing footprint in Saudi Arabia.

The firm currently has an assembly capacity of around 5,000 vehicles per year. Lucid’s expansion into full car production signifies a substantial increase in output. The company’s decision to manufacture vehicles locally aligns with broader efforts to promote domestic manufacturing and contribute to the growth of the automotive sector in Saudi Arabia.

Lucid’s latest endeavor includes plans to introduce its Gravity SUV car to the Saudi market following its successful launch in the United States. This strategic move aims to capitalize on the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region and further solidify Lucid’s position as a leading player in the automotive industry.

Faisal Sultan, Lucid’s Vice President in Saudi Arabia, expressed optimism about the company’s prospects in the kingdom. He noted that the facility in Jeddah produced nearly 50 cars in its first week of operation, highlighting the efficiency and capability of Lucid’s manufacturing operations.

Looking ahead, Lucid has set ambitious targets for its Saudi operations, aiming to achieve an annual production output of nearly 155,000 vehicles. This represents a significant contribution to the automotive sector and underscores Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a key hub for electric vehicle manufacturing.

With this, Lucid Motors Group embarks on this next phase of expansion in Saudi Arabia, showing the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and driving positive change in the automotive industry.
