Trina Storage has released its latest battery storage system called Elementa 2 Pro. The system is designed to store up to 5 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity. It has been introduced across different regions, including the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

The Elementa 2 Pro is an upgraded version of the earlier Elementa 2 series. It includes new technology in battery cells and system layout. The battery uses a 314Ah cell with a long cycle life of 15,000 cycles. This design helps the battery last longer and reduces overall costs over time.

The system is compact and can be installed side-by-side or back-to-back, which saves space. It has a noise control feature that brings down sound levels to about 70 decibels. This makes it useful in areas where noise is a concern, such as near buildings or in urban spaces.

To keep the system running safely, it uses electric vehicle-grade battery cells that are tested for durability. There are three safety layers built into the battery. These include protection in the battery cabinet, the power conversion system (PCS), and the energy management system (EMS).

The cooling system uses hybrid cooling to keep the battery temperature within a 2.5°C range, even in extreme weather. This helps the battery run efficiently and last longer. In cold weather, the system also uses 30% less power for internal operations.

This system has been made easy to manage. Each battery cell’s temperature can be tracked in real-time. The system uses smart software that finds any issues quickly. The setup also allows remote updates, reducing the need for in-person checks. This can cut maintenance costs by up to 90%.

In the Middle East, Trina Storage is discussing battery projects with partners in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. A pilot system has been shared with two energy firms, each testing 1.5MWh storage units in desert conditions for future scalability.
